CONNECTING   TRACK SECTIONS

Tracks are connected together using specially designed 1" stainless steel keys ( 2 per lane).   The keys are press fit into slots next to each rail.  Simply place the two pieces together and insert the keys first by hand and then using a small bladed key insertion tool supplied, seat each key into the slot just below the surface of the track.  The keys serve 2 purposes: 1) hold the track together, 2) continue the flow of power around the track.

The keys are solid stainless steel and once in place produce a very strong joint contacting the rail along the entire length of the key.  This method of connection produces very little power loss around the entire layout.

There are many ways to secure the track to the table.  Track hold down clamps are available which serve to hold the track to the table and bridge the joint providing a method to level the track between joints facillitating and maximizing track smoothness.  You can also drill a hole at any location through the track.
