| The lap counter
"dead" section is a 4" piece that is isolated ("dead") made
within an 18" piece of track.
Hard wiring is done in the same way as the power section (2 per lane) to a terminal block The block is color coded and serves as the terminal for connecting your particular lap counter device. This method has been proven reliable for most electronic lap counting devices including computer software packages.

| The other method
uses reed switch inserts. These are mechanical devices that seat in slots next to each
power rail. The slots are machined to your specifications to accept the type of reed
switch you want to use. You supply the reed switches and install them once you have
the track. |
